The Programme

What makes the Trail´s programme so unique is the time spent with the participants over four years building relationships. Adolescence is a critical point in their development as they make the transition from children to young adults.

The youth who come to Trails often experience little if any constants in their lives. The most valuable support Trails offers them is a sense of permanence and belonging. Many times participants talk about the staff they meet at Trails as being part of their family – their roots.

The facilitators at Trails take on a variety of roles acting as leaders, mentors and support systems that the kids need in these transitional years. It is the goal of the programme that the skills, knowledge and confidence they learn at Trails are conveyed out into the communities.

The development of qualities such as caring, respectfulness and self reliance assist the youth in making good life choices and achieving their goals beyond the safe setting of Trails--developing wings outdoors.

Intake Day Is June 10th, 2012
