How to Become a Sponsor

The Trails Youth Sponsorship Programme was developed to help cover the cost of sending 88 youth each year to Trails. It costs $7,500 per year for each youth, which is a small investment for creating the leaders of tomorrow. This amount covers food, accommodation, activities, guest speakers, canoeing trips, sea kayak trips, a one-day workshop to Horse Spirit Connection, yoga, certification in first aid, clothing, transportation, field trips, and staffing. In other words, for under $30.00 a day, pre-teens are transformed into young adults with bright futures!

Dr. Wayne Hammond, preeminent Canadian psychologist and founder of Resiliency Canada, states: “Positive and progressive change in youth attitudes and behaviors cannot take place without long term mentorship.” - Something Trails has perfected

The Many Benefits of Donating to Trails

Through your investment, we are building healthy and vibrant communities.  Trails youth are given the tools and conditions for achievement through skill and knowledge building, two key skills that are crucial to building healthy and vibrant communities.

Through learning experiences, these youth remain and achieve in school, and have opportunities to experience positive personal growth and hence are prepared for success. Equally of benefit is that these youth are healthier and more physically active which again, strengthens the economic health of our communities.

How Your Donation is Used

A donation is an opportunity to see the excitement in a child’s eyes when they paddle a canoe for the first time, share in the camaraderie of singing around a campfire, and take part in outdoor activities they would otherwise never get to enjoy in an urban environment. Trails helps youth to connect, communicate and participate.
